Halflings don’t have class
If you didn't start with that level in monk, you could have gotten a 6th ASI/feat (resilient dex would also boost your AC by 1) and 5 rages per long rest from level 12 barbarian, or a use of indomitable from level 9 fighter. Also, an item called wraps of unarmed prowess were introduced in the book of many things. They give you a +N to your unarmed strikes depending on rarity and make your punches magical.

One problem with the owl is how much space it needs to fly. If the ceiling is less than somewhere between no more than 5 to 10 feet or the tunnel is very curveythe owl would have trouble flying. A problem with most familiars is being noticed. If owls do not normaly fly in the Dungeon then they could put the bad guys on alret.

All of these One D&d revisions feel like the Lucas revisions of the original Star Wars movies. Unneeded.
You guys forgot to mention Necromancers as an undead summoning class choice and the options they provide.
Valor gets great armor and Inspiration that buffs their allies combat powers Swords get worse armor, selfish self smite for bardic inspiration smh. Meanwhile bard still full caster. Extra attack + Magic Weapon > Every cantrip (bar optimized eldritch blast ofc Valor goes as most underrated subclass in 5e
When comparing this to the other classes/subclasses they changed this is probably the biggest nerf from 5e 😅

Mobile and resilient con.
First time necromancer. I'm less concerned with hiding or disguising them, and more interested in playability. I have eight undead, which leaves me throwing a fistful of dice to see how they do in combat - it's already pretty clunky. And with a few more levels, I'll have a couple of dozen - waaay too many dice to treat each combat as an individual action. And what happens when I reach the 200 zombies and 200 skeletons? My turns would take an hour or more, and the rest of the players would be bored to tears. Is there a good solution to speed up combats with that army?
What about that wildfire druid or did that not make it out of UA? The giving up wild shape for a short term minion sounded odd to me.
I have a Lizard folk Druid named Hiss Bronzescale, so far his least favorite food is ice cream, he has eaten a goblin, baby ropers, and a bag man.... I'm still waiting for a party member to die so we can go over the topic of how his culture functions lol ...

I'm sorry but there is functionally and thematically nothing wrong with valor. Oh boo hoo it doesn't get it's extra attack until a level later. Maybe that's because it's a freaking full caster and a bard at that?! The people who complain about this stuff are the same ones calling fighters boring, while insisting that the non combat class be allowed to fight just as good as the fighter.
Which class would Razorclaw Shifter fall under? When I used to play DnD there were only the Longtooth and Razorclaw Shifters. This was back between 2008-2012. My beloved character was a Razorclaw Shifter named Kimahri. She was a Rogue-Thief and Support to the team. She was fiercely loyal, resourceful and was always there with food, water, medicine and more than willing to rescue captured members and "defend to the death" against bandits/monsters. I would love to revive her someday if possible though everyone I used to play DnD with moved away. She, my human friends and DnD made life at the homeless shelter more tolerable back then. I miss those good times😢😢 ❤❤❤

Nice flavoring with your orcs. Mine are a mix. There are tribes that worship gruumsh, but a new leader is spreading his influence through the tribes of the plains. He is Dibuk Khan, greatest of chiefs and uniter of tribes. Under his rule, orcs make trade and protect travelers in an effort to advance their people to the level of the other races.

Theres a few solutions for this but the easiest to implement is to level up with gold. Some people hate xp levelling and having xp replaced with gold encourages getting good deals and repeat business over being a murder hobo. Having to decide between that magic item and your next level up really makes gold feel valuable. Other solutions would be to charge players for magical/medical and repair services. For this homebrew nat1s cause damage to your equipment and going into death saving throw leads to a permanent injury and lowering of max health points, perhaps broken bones. The world is rife with potential diseases and curses and your cleric cant fix them all, not for free anyway. Make a trip to the doctors, blacksmith or consume potions and/or resources to fix these problems.
*sigh* ...yes there's other ways to do it but none of them are as powerful at such a low level, and tbh it's still powerful at higher levels. Get a lance and you can frenzy with reach and 1d12. That's a powerful combo, at level 3, and it only gets more powerful as you level up. GWM specifically REQUIRES a crit or kill, which gets more difficult as you face tougher enemies. Frenzy just works. Dual wielding forces lower damage, requiring a fighting style (that barbs don't get) just to do adequate damage, and provides no further advantages unless you specifically take a feat. Frenzy just works. Seriously, what is with 5e players and just wanting everything in the game to be easy? You can't even die from the exhaustion that Frenzy gives you until higher levels because you can only do it twice at first. Just play smart!

I was gonna say, it's just old head DnD players, they come from a world of wizards with 1d4 -1 hp at lvl 1
Catching this vid 5 years late, but damn do I love Easy Roller dice! Just bought the 25 pack for each size. They feel great, more dense and better painted than Chessex for sure!
does DnD ever use the telerik energy lines aka spiritual power lines that cover earth? wouldnt it be fun to lead players to understand that the lines are there and if you follow them to where they intersect it has certain effects. also to find out there are factions trying to weaken the lines because they help confine dark forces in the world like maybe an ancient dragon or fallen angels or something. i heard under the volcano in hawaii the locals thing there is a fire god under it madam pelee or something.

The weird thing is if you get rid of the exhaustion the subclass is great and it’s 6 level fixes one of the biggest weakness of the class witch is charm and fear effects

Make it so the party needs to not have dark vision at puzzles. It could force them to guard an npc.
there is a hidden strategy, Frenzy says nowhere that that BA attack requires you to attack. therefore it would allow you to use your action for something other than an attack, and also get an attack using your BA if you want to. it is pretty niche, but if you look at it with that mindset it opens up a lot more options.
Baldurs gate 3 did this subclass well i think, while raging you get access to a bonus action frenzy strike, bonus action enraged throw and a bonus action improvised weapon attack. The throw and improvised weapon attacks don't have any draw backs (other than dropping the thing you attacked with which is easily recoverable) but frenzy strike allows you to attack with your main weapon at the cost of 1 level of frenzy strain which decreases your attack by one for every level and goes away at the end of rage, so if an enemy has super low hp it is often better to use an improvised weapon but it's still a gamble because they do less damage, or you can use your bonus action to throw a javelin at an enemy far away to still make use of it but not acrue any strain.
In bg3 though, berserker barb with throwing weapons is probably the single most broken build in the game. Three attacks by lvl 5, four attacks by lvl 8 (because you go Thief rogue 6-8), all with enough accuracy to hit bosses while disadvantaged 95% of the time (due to Tavern Brawler). Each hit doing as much or more damage than Sharpshooter rangers. Also while being super tanky, and the best user of Barrelmancy in the game, due to your high carry weight.
@@pa7764 yeah it would probably have to be toned down if mimicked in dnd probably just by making the enraged throw only work on enemies and/or improvised weapons cause it can effectively makes barbarian the best ranged class probably which is kinda weird.
What about instead it’s an extra attack at disadvantage and stacks with other sources of extra attack.

You can easily trade out trains for caravans (ie. wagon trains)
Frenzy should just be their 3 level feature name, which gives them an extra attack when they take the attack action while raging. No costs and fancy tricks here. It stacks with other sources of extra attack.
Will argue that it is not just an extra attack cuz unlike all examples mention the Berserker Barb can use that bonus action attack after any action rather then having to take the attack action to proc. Not saying it is still not a poor subclass but it is a bit better then presented.
the 5e videogame solasta made a minor change to the frenzy ability, giving the barbarian a constitution save to avoid the exhastion. it starts at dc 10 and goes up by 5 for each time until you take a long rest.
True tho, for something "chaotic" and "unpredictable" it really just depends on your DM
Magic Items and Feats are not guaranteed.
But Feats are guaranteed, especially if you play Human or have gone past lvl 4.
@@_PannieCake_ Oh, you're unaware that features are an optional rule. Your DM COULD tell you that you can not take them in place of an ASI.

I get what they were trying to do with Berserker. You get functionally an extra attack 2 levels early, at the cost of a level of exhaustion. The issue is that the downside is so much worse than the upside especially when, as stated, you can use your bonus actions for equally as valuable things without the downside. Also, if fights went on longer it would be better than it is as well, but considering how you're average fight only lasts 3 rounds, you're really not getting a lot of value for then having a level of exhaustion the rest of the day. I don't even think it's unfixable either. In-fact I can think of a few ways to make it better with only a little tweak. If the frenzy gave you an attack action instead of a single melee attack, then it would scale better at higher levels, and have some slight flexibility. If at say, level 6 you no longer gained a level of exhaustion, or could use it a few times before gaining exhaustion after 6, then that wouldn't feel as bad. Another idea is that while Raging(again maybe gained at 6, not 3 for balance purposes but idk), you ignore you're levels of exhaustion while raging. That could also make it feel better, it would also gives some interesting interactions with exhaustion in general. In general they've not done great with trade-off mechanics in 5e. What little of them their are. And I think the system itself doesn't lend itself to having those kind of things in the first place, but I also think it can be done, and done interestingly.
